About

Hi! I'm Amy Sherman, a San Francisco–based cookbook author, food writer and recipe developer. I launched the blog, Cooking with Amy, in June of 2003. Not long after it was chosen one of the top five food blogs by Forbes and also singled out by The Guardian (UK) as a top food blog. It has received well over 4 million visits.

On the blog I offer original recipes, reviews, commentary, news and culinary travel information. I hope you enjoy visiting as much as I enjoy writing and sharing my discoveries.

I was honored that my blog is listed as a “Site we Love” by Saveur, linked to a by Cooking Light, Epicurious, Good Housekeeping, Redbook and the New York Times (Bay Area edition) among others and was “blog of the day” on the Julie & Julia movie web site.

I have written for various magazines and online sites, including Afar, Architectural Digest, Tasting Table, Food Network, Epicurious, KQED's Bay Area Bites, Fodor's, 7x7, Frommer's and CleanPlates. I've also contributed to magazines including San Francisco, Marin, Westways, Wine Enthusiast, Via, Gastronomica, Caviar Affair and Avianca (inflight).

I'm the author of Williams-Sonoma New Flavors for Appetizers and Wine Passport: Portugal, A Microwave, A Mug, A Meal, and wrote the introduction to a reprint of the classic Jane Grigson’s Vegetable Book.

My corporate recipe development clients include Nasoya, Whole Foods, Grocery Outlet, Dannon, Cargill, Keurig, Colman, T-fal, USA Pears, MyWinesDirect and the California Avocado Commission. Need recipes? Contact me!
